Distinguishing interpersonal and ideological prosociality:Introducing the construct of ideological prosociality

Prosociality refers to dispositions and behaviors intended benefit others, the present study assumed that these reflect people's values. Much of research on prosociality has examined in what can be called interpersonal domain, e.g., helping others. I propose also exists ideological domain. People hold prosocial values concern collectives, not specific individuals. Multilevel analyses data collected Wave 8 European Social Survey (44,000 respondents 23 countries) found positive relationships between attitudes toward immigrants, refugees, gays lesbians, about environment climate change, social benefits, income equality. Moreover, remained significant after controlling for participants' sex, age, income, education, political orientation, happiness.
